Mono variaty cultivation is not the solution

What many producers in Central-America told me already many years ago, renewing plantations with uniquely Catimor or Lempira or whatever the roya resistent variety is called, will not solve the problems in the long term.

Beside producing lower quality, these varieties are not resistant against other fungus deseases and one day, they will not no longer be resistant against a mutated roya strain.

It is still very unclear what is happening in Honduras, but first signs are there that indeed this is starting to happen.
